When presented with this flag as a gift, Bobby Kennedy Jr.
commented, "I get gifts whereever I travel. This one I really
like!" The flag has hung in his law office for several years now.

Walking the grassroots unity flag across the Brooklyn Bridge
enroute to Wash. D.C. During days of walking against multiple
lanes of oncoming traffic the response seemed very positive. |

Senator Mike Gravel, 2 term independent Senator from Alaska
best known for having read the Pentagon Papers into the
official record thus saving Daniel Elsberg and eventually
leading to the end of the Vietnam War. Sick of the corruption
of politics, Mike wants to see Americans step up to the
promise of real Democracy. On Sept 17, '02 Mike is launching a
7 year initiative drive to give every American at every level
of governance, local, state, and national, the right to make
law through the initiative process, directly by a polling of
the people. Currently only 24 states offer this right by law.
Mikes proposal, which I believe is the most powerful of the
deep democracy, electoral reforms currently under discussion
(along with publically financed campaigns, open presidential
debates, and instant runoff voting), would codify the idea
that the ultimate authority for democratic governance resides
in the hands of its people. His proposal would create a
constitutional amendment guaranteeing the right of innitiative
at every level and by a parrallel act would establish the
mechanism for holding initiatives. |
